1 Fiqh of Fasting The Ultimate Shield Prepared by: Hacene Chebbani

2 The Excellence of Fasting Allah, the All-Wise knows His Creation. He commanded them to perform different kinds of acts of worship. Fasting has a different flavor. Fasting is the ultimate shield against the Fire of Hell, against one’s desires and against angry disputes. Hadith: “Fasting is a shield against the punishment of Allah” Saheeh.

3 Great and Exceptional Reward Hadith Qudsi: “Every action of the son of Adam is given manifold reward, each good deed receiving ten times its like, up to seven hundred times. Allah, the Most High said, “Except for fasting it is for Me and I will give recompense for it, he leaves off his desires and his food for Me…..” (B/M)

4 Al-Rayyan Hadith: “The Paradise has eight gates. One of them is called al-Rayyan, only the fasting people (people who used to perform fasting during their lives) can come through it.” (B/M) Hadith: “Each group of people is called to enter Paradise by a door named after the kind of good deeds they used to perform.”

5 Better than the Smell of Musk Hadith: “The change in the breath of the mouth of him who fasts is better in Allah’s estimation than the smell of Musk.” Musk: is a greasy secretion with a powerful odor, produced in glandular sac beneath the skin of the abdomen of the male musk deer and used in the manufacture of perfumes.

6 Times of Happiness and Joy Hadith: “The one who fasts, experiences two joys: he feels pleasure when he breaks the fast. He will be happy by virtue of his fast when he meets his Rabb.” (B/M) Happiness at the time of Iftaar (eating time or spiritual achievement) Happiness on the Day of Judgment: The Greatness of the reward. How much is “Great” in the sight of Allah?

7 Ibadah Made Easy Hadith: “When Ramadan begins, the gates of Jannah are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained.” (B/M) A sign of Allah’s love and mercy in this Month. Roll up your sleeves and get ready: the gates of jannah will be opened. Allah’s forgiveness will abundant. Your enemy is chained up.

8 Importance of this Course Every Ramadan people will be divided into two groups: winners and losers. Some people will go without being forgiven. The conversation between Jibreel and Mohamed (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) when he was ascending the Minbar. Hadith: “Perhaps a fasting person will receive nothing from his fasting except hunger and thirst.” (Ibn Majah/Ahmed).

9 Dua’ May Allah help us to reach Ramadan and make us among those who made an outstanding performance in this blessed Month.
