If you are computer phobic, this class may not be for you. Although many students who were new to the Mac have successfully passed this class with excellent Library Show displays.

Teacher: Kenji Tachibana Digital Photography I Mac & Digital Camera: Special note D igital Camera: A computer Especially the DSLR’s, they can look and feel like the old ‘analogue’ film cameras at a glance. But, a closer inspection will quickly show you that it is a computer with lots of button, switches and it will not work without a power source. The point and shoot compact digital is much simpler but it still has its share of buttons, switches, and the powerful hunger for battery power. I will be describing the digital camera in general terms. Although, it will be up to you to figure out how the general ideas applies to your particular camera.

PicBridge was developed in 2003 for CIPA (Camera & Imaging Products Association) for that purpose. It allows images to be printed directly from digital cameras to a printer without any computer interface. They have succeeded for the casual user. A snap shot shooter can easily print at home from their camera to a PicBridge capable printer.

Today, a print from a Costco 1-Hour Lab can be cheaper and faster than making your own ‘archival’ prints at home. You’re the winner in that fast evolution. The current digitals are amazing but it is far from perfect. At the current level of technology, consider that all digital images must have the basic lab work applied to them to force the image to tell your precise story.

And it gets processed into a RGB full color image. This is true for 98% of all digital images. Samsung uses Foeven chips which starts out by seeing in full color.
