2 INTRODUCTION TO BASIC PHOTOGRAPHY COURSE Anyone wishing to take this basic photography course is recommended to have a digital SLR camera, computer, and printer at their disposal to complete the course successfully. This basic photography course will teach the basic fundamentals so one can understand the functionality of the SLR (single lens reflex) camera, its features and basic photography functions.

3 PERFORMANCE BASE OBJECTIVES  Understand the basic fundamentals of photography  Able to identify and explain basic camera functions

4 CONTENT-BASED INSTRUCTIONAL  Introduction to basic digital photography  Introducing the digital SLR camera and accessories  Camera functions, lenses, and flash unit  What is ISO? Film speed  ISO, Shutter speed, and F-stops  Memory card, image files, and computer related  White balancing, color temperatures

5 CONTENT-BASED INSTRUCTIONAL  Flash photography  Composition, focusing (manual and auto focus), exposure (manual metering)  Viewfinder control display versus control panel versus main display.  Menu functions and additional in-camera features.  Transfer of digital images to computer, printing from either camera or computer.

6 FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT PBO1  Students can explain between light, camera, lenses and the interaction, and result.  Weekly assignments clearly met with hardcopy print to share in class.  Weekly assignments are explained by student with clarity.

7 FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT (CONTINUED) PBO2  Students are able to explain the purpose of each assignment and how they utilize their digital camera to complete their assignment as instructed.  Students understands the functionality of their digital SLR camera and can explain each purpose in detail.  Students can demonstrate the use of their digital SLR camera and effects.

8 CONCLUSION At the conclusion of this basic photography course, students will understand the basics of photography and retain good useful knowledge of how to use their digital SLR camera and accessories to the fullest. Produce quality pictures for personal or public use. Most of all, enjoy taking pictures using features they have learned.
