10. What is a Centimeter?
A centimeter is a small unit we can use to measure length or distance.
Many 12 inch rulers have one side for centimeters.
CM is Centimeters

11. Centimeters continued. . .
It takes about two and a half (2 ½) Centimeters to equal the same distance as one Inch.
This penny is about 2 centimeters or ¾ of an inch

15. What is a millimeter? A millimeter is even smaller than a centimeter
One centimeter is made up of 10 millimeters!

16. When you measure in millimeters. . .
Each line is one millimeter, so you can count those lines to get the total number of millimeters.
Every big line shows the centimeters or 10 millimeters making it easier to count by tens for longer measurements.
The side of a dime measures only a few millimeters!

20. How can I use this?
Measuring is a great tool, you can make sure things fit together, when making a birdhouse or even making sure you have room for something new at home, measure where it should go then measure how long it is, if it is the same or shorter than the space it should fit together!
