Institute of Heating and Ventilation Research projects carried out in the Institute are usually interdisciplinary and include elements of building physics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics and environmental sciences. Mainly they are concentrated on: development of modern, energy efficient heating and district heating systems, development of modern, energy efficient and comfortable ventilation and air-conditioning systems, mathematical modelling and engineering design (including computed aided design) of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, mathematical modelling, simulation and optimisation of gas networks, design of smoke control systems, thermal comfort and indoor air quality, sustainability of buildings and their technical systems. http://www.iow.is.pw.edu.pl
