2 Let’s help Broccoli Bailey create her own healthy lunch Designed by Anna Maetzold

3 Bailey has some healthy choices to make. She’ll need a food from each food group to eat! Fruits Whole Grains Vegetables Dairy Proteins

4 Why so many choices? We need lots of different kinds of food in our bodies to do different things. Each food group gives us a different kind of energy and helps us to grow, so it’s important we make sure to eat each and every one of them!

5 This food pyramid can help us make smart choices! Each food belongs to a different group, listen as I describe them to you!

6 So, how does each food group help me be healthy? Fruits help protect us from getting sick, and give us lots of energy too ! Grains give you lots of energy to get through the day! Foods in the dairy group, like cheese, help your bones grow strong! Foods that are full of protein help your muscles grow and give you lots of energy! Vegetables like me help you in lots of different ways, but mostly by keeping everything inside your body running the way it should!
