2. A Literal Kingdom While most current events are not specific fulfillments of prophecy we believe they often fit into the framework of end times events that have been revealed by God in His Book. To be accurate in our interpretation we must

3. distinguish between what God has to say about the future of the nation of Israel, what He has to say about the future of the church, and what He has to say about the future of the World.

4. Eschatology About ¼ of the Bible is predictive prophecy. About ½ of those prophecies have already been fulfilled literally in the 1 st coming of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we should expect that most of the remaining ones will also be fulfilled literally. “If the plain sense makes common sense, seek no other sense.”

Daniel 2 makes sense when we see that as the human kingdoms of the statue were fulfilled literally, so the Kingdom that will be established and governed by the Messiah, Jesus Christ will also have an earthly, literal fulfillment. He will especially fulfill all the promises that were made by God to the nation of Israel.

8. The Nation of Israel A major doctrine of the Bible and Eschatology. The Messiah would be born into this nation. (Gen 12) Even though they rejected Jesus when He came the 1 st time (John 1) and they were “set aside” because of it (Rom 9- 11), the nation still has a literal glorious future ahead (Psalm 72; Zech 2;8) - A literal 1000 year kingdom with Christ on the throne. (Rev 20)

10. A-Millennialism(300’s)  Spiritual rather than literal kingdom  Christ returns at some point and eternity begins Post-Millennialism(1800’s)  Thanks to the church, the world grows progressively better  The church presents the kingdom to Jesus when He arrives
