2.  China is an interesting and important place. Its animals are important too. For example the panda is one of China’s many attractions. It has white and black fur and is in the bear family. The Asian elephant is also significant because it has been worshiped for centuries and is still used today for ceremonial and religious purposes. Last but not least is the Chinese zodiac pig. 4.  The panda’s thick coats are white and black all over its ears, eyes, legs, shoulders and muzzles. This can be anywhere between five and ten years of age.  The adolescent stage extends from that time that the elephant has weaned until seventeen years of age. Adolescence is the time in which young elephant begin to break from the herd.  Adulthood starts at about eighteen years of age and the elephant has an average life span expectancy of 70 years of age.
