3 Biological Paradigm Types of Disease: Infectious vs. Traumatic Basic Model –Predisposition (resistance) and exposure (germs, trauma, etc.) interact to produce disease –Disease causes symptoms and signs Symptoms: what is reported Signs: what is observable (more important)
