Let Your Life Count Chapter 11

If you love me, you will obey what I command. John 14:15

Has there ever been a time when you served God out of a sense of duty?

Which of these three things are most important to you? Pleasing God Impressing others Having your life count for something.

"Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. "So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men.

I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. Matthew 6:1-4

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33

“When our hearts rest securely in God’s amazing love, the noise of this world grows strangely quiet, and we can truly hear what God is saying, how He is directing our steps. When our hearts rest securely in God’s love, our mouths speak words of encouragement and our bank accounts become a tool in the kingdom. All that we have, all that we are, is available to the One to whom we owe it all”
