4 Revelation Revelation refers to initial Impressions:
Different levels of intensity Different levels of specificity Don’t despise small beginnings Keep these initial impressions clear in your mind before rushing ahead with the word © 2006, Nathan Eckel

5 Interpretation Interpretation refers to:
What the initial impressions might mean How you communicate it to the receiver When Revelation is not distinct from Interpretation, errors often occur! © 2006, Nathan Eckel

6 Application Application refers to how & when the receiver responds or does not respond to the word. If you believe you have insight into this area, suggest it to the receiver. Remind the receiver that they are responsible to discern the word. It should line up with scripture. We offer the word; they decide what to do with it. © 2006, Nathan Eckel

7 Traffic Light Analogy Revelation Interpretation Application

8 Red Light - Revelation STOP for a moment to clarify the Revelation before you communicate it to the receiver Articulate what you see, feel, hear, etc… Don’t determine meanings, just clarify the Revelation

9 Yellow Light - Interpretation
Communicate ONLY Revelation Distinguish between Revelation & Interpretation - don’t blend them! Sometimes asking “does this impression mean anything to you?” brings an interpretation Other team members often have an interpretation

10 Green Light – Application
Your job is done! The receiver discerns the word & application God is the Source, so we avoid Taking “credit” Receiving blame
