Thursday November 29, 2007SNC1D | Miss. Manaktola 1 Simple Circuits Quiz SNC1D: Thursday November 29, 2007

Thursday November 29, 2007SNC1D | Miss. Manaktola 2 Ohm’s Law Lab Investigation 10.11 (page 320)

3 Purpose PART 1 We will study the relationship between VOLTAGE DROP and ELECTRIC CURRENT for ohmic resistors PART 2 We will study the relationship between VOLTAGE DROP and ELECTRIC CURRENT for an incandescent light bulb ELECTRICAL LOAD

4 Method Construct the circuit shown on Page 320. Part 1Part 2 Use the ohmic resistors as the electrical load. Use the light bulb as the electrical load. Connect resistor #1 (brown- black-brown). Take voltmeter and ammeter readings for 1, 2, 3, and 4 cells. Connect resistor #2 (red-red- black). Take voltmeter and ammeter readings for 1, 2, 3, and 4 cells. Connect the light bulb. Take voltmeter and ammeter readings for 1, 2, 3, and 4 cells. TABLE 1 TABLE 2 TABLE 3

5 Calculations & Graphing Calculate the Resistance  You have recorded V and I  Remember: R = V_ I Graph Voltage (y-axis) versus Current (x- axis) of all three electrical loads on one sheet of graph paper V R I

Thursday November 29, 2007SNC1D | Miss. Manaktola 6 Do you remember how to use the multimeter?
