3 Presenter Kristian Breitenbauch Danish Citizen
Business Area - Food Retail Business Development Manager for Systems Sales manager for Nordic & Baltic Region Danish Citizen Live and work out Aarhus in Denmark Married, twin 1 year

4 ADAP-KOOL® Electronic Controls
ADAP-KOOL® means adaptive refrigeration controls which: Automatically adapts to changing conditions ensuring optimal system performance This is done through: Adaptive superheat Adaptive suction pressure Adaptive condensing pressure Adaptive defrost Adaptive Rail-heat AKD Adaptive wireless network More than systems installed

5 Temperature Monitoring
Required to fulfil HACCP requirements Conducted manually according to local standards Performed automatically by an electronic system Automatically collecting temperature logs: No manual work required Always done as required Requirements are varying Most likely only to become stricter in the future

6 Danfoss Wireless System
A wireless system supporting temperature quality through: Checking Monitoring Reporting temperatures Wireless temperature monitoring is attractive due to: No need for wires Faster and cheaper installation Moving cabinets does not require re-installation Battery driven nodes gives more freedom

7 The Main Wireless Products
Wireless Reciever WR200 Wireless Sensor Node (WS-100) Models for 1 & 4 sensors Can work as a router as well Wireless Handheld Terminal (WT-150)

8 General Advantages Wireless sensor nodes are very suited for:
Retro fit solutions to fulfil HACCP Separate product sensor Integral cabinets Cabinets not on the network The Wireless Handheld terminal is very suited for: Controlling entrance/received temperature of goods Manual check of temperatures Increasing awareness of temperature quality among store personnel Verification of product temp vs air control temp

9 One Package – Several Usage Areas
The wireless portfolio can be used for: Stand-alone temperature monitoring Temperature monitoring with remote access Temperature monitoring for AKA systems Temperature monitoring for AK Systems

10 The Wireless Nodes Sensors node models: General info
Node for one AKS11/12 Node for four AKS11/12 Node acting as router (connect no1 to mains) General info Min 3 years batt. life. Measure every xx min (programmable). - 50 to +50 degrees Celsius Requires external power if ”router” function

11 The Wireless Handheld Terminal 150
Infrared or insertion (core) temperature measurements Store measurements in up to 64 groups User programmable text -30 to + 70 degrees Celsius Wireless communication to AK-WD250 and AK-WR200 Routing possibility (can communicate via routers) Log’s are stored in system Battery power –charger included

12 The Wireless Receiver Central unit: Max 99 nodes
Mesh network technology. Automatic routing / redundant routing Self healing Web server integrated Integrates to AK systems via RS232 or IP External antenna

13 WD & WL Webserver Basic webserver integrated for easy access
Still integration to AK® systems

14 Advantages of Wireless Monitoring
Wireless system advantages Simple temperature logs for HACCP Reduced installation time as no wires needed Web server access Plug-and-play functionality Wireless monitoring integrates to existing and new systems AKA 24X and AKM AK SM350&720

15 Wireless on AKA Systems
Integration to AKA Retrofits and integrals in existing systems Wireless Receiver 150 Handheld Terminal AKA241 Wireless node – 1 sensor Wireless node – 4 sensor Wireless node – acting as a router

16 Wireless on AK Systems Integration to AKA
Retrofits and integrals in existing systems Wireless Receiver 150 Handheld Terminal Wireless node – 1 sensor Wireless node – 4 sensor Wireless node – acting as a router

17 Adaptive Healing – Mesh Network
Traditional star network Very simple - traditional way of thinking Problems if obstacles block radio transmission All nodes must be within direct range Weak links will need many retransmissions Meshed network - Danfoss Routers will be able to forward messages Obstacles can be overcome Range can be extended Weak links are not used 1 6 7 2 4 3 5

18 Planning Installation
It is a good idea to plan the installation The alternative is trial & error Trail & Error costs much more time during the installation phase Without planning there is a risk of not having optimal repeater placement

19 Planning the installation
Put all nodes on a floorplan (1) Drav a circle (R =10-15m) arrund the central unit Nodes at the perimeter and close to other nodes outside the circle are good candidates to be repeaters Draw a circle arround the repeater (3) Continue finding good repeaters, and draw circles around them until all nodes are inside a circle (4) Check that no node has more than 4 hops to the central unit 2 CU 3 CU CU 1 4 CU

20 An Approved Solution for Europe
