 The circulatory system moves nutrients and gas waste to and from cells. Also it fights diseases and stabilizes body temperature. It delivers oxygen to the body through the blood stream. What role does it play?

 The main organs are the heart, blood and the blood vessels and the  The heart pumps blood through the body. The blood travels through the blood vessels and delivers oxygen to the body. The blood vessels help the blood travel to the organ systems. What are the main organs?

 Before each heart beat the heart fills up with blood and when it contracts it pushes the blood out and into the arteries.  The blood vessels carry the blood through out the body, giving oxygen to the body and then returns to the heart.  The Blood travels through the body and gives oxygen to the body. What are the main organs?

The circulatory system allows oxygen from breathing in to the bloodstream as well release gas waste such as carbon dioxide. This oxygen is carried by the blood in your blood vessels (specifically your arteries) to all the cells, tissues, and organs in the body. In return, the blood that is carried by the veins and pumped by the heart go back, and the process repeats and bringing oxygen to the body. How do these organs work together?

 The circulatory system and the respatory system are closer together in the body. Oxygen, is an essential part of the metabolic proses of nearly all cells is gathered through the respitory system and transported through the body's of complexed organisms. These 2 systems also eliminated carbon dioxide, which is a metabolic waste product. The respatory system and the circulatory system are connected through the lungs where the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide occur. What systems are the circulatory system connected to?

 Another system that is connected to the circulatory system is the digestive system. The digestive system absorbs nutrients and then give it to the blood stream. Then the blood stream gives nutrients to other organs What systems are the circulatory system connected to?

 The levels of organization we start with Organs then the tissues, the cells that make the tissues. For this slide we chose the heart as demonstration for organs.  One of the types of tissues that makes the heart is the cardiovascular(cardiac) muscle tissue. The cardiac muscle tissue is only found in the heart.  Then there are cardiac muscle cells. They make up the tissue that makes up part of the heart. What are the levels of human organization? This is a picture of cardiac muscle tissue.

 Arteriosclerosis is one of the most common diseases for the circulatory system. This is when there is too much fat in the arteries and it causes the walls to thicken and stiffen. It is caused by too much fat, cholesterol and calcium. Lifestyle changes can be the only treatment needed to cure arteriosclerosis. 2 common diseases

 Another common disease is hypertension but commonly called high blood pressure. This disease causes the heart to work harder. Some complications are heart attack, stroke or kidney failure. The causes are high amounts of sodium, obesity, lack of exercise, drugs, alcohol, poor diet and smoking. Some ways you can prevent is with a healthy diet and medication prescribed by your doctor. 2 common diseases

 Some ways you can maintain a healthy circulatory system is to exercise your heart. You can do this by being active like playing basketball or jump rope. Also you can eat healthy food like an apple or broccoli. Try to not have pop a lot. Also don’t smoke! How you can maintain a healthy circulatory system!

 The first profession is heart surgeon – when someone has a heart attack they might need surgery! So a heart surgeon is called in and might have to operate. This person would work at a hospital.  The second profession is cardiac and vascular surgeon- sometimes medication can slow the progress of heart disease, some patients require surgery to fix damage to the heart and the blood vessels. This is the work of cardiac and vascular surgeons. They perform bypasses and open- heart surgery, as well as valve repairs and they also work in a hospital Professions that involve the circulatory system

 The circulatory system is extremely long.  Physicians followed an incorrect model of the circulatory system for 1500 years.  It takes about 20 seconds for one blood cell to circle the entire body.  Red blood cells must squeeze through blood vessels.  The heart beats about 3 billion times in a person’s life. Did you know?
