1 Our Goals for Today: Provide an overview of the Manufacturing Logistics Technician & Manufacturing Production Technician programs of study; Discuss the Model for Delivery through the Delaware Technical Community College; Discuss early college and early career experiences for students; and Discuss next steps and how to submit a program application. Framing Our Conversation

2 Program of Study Overview

3 Manufacturing Logistics Technician (MLT): The program of study is a two (2) year; four (4) semester Career & Technical Education (CTE) instructional program that engages students in the application of manufacturing processes and familiarizes students with logistical operations in a manufacturing facility Partners: DTCC; DMA; Dream it, Do It; DEMEP; Governors Office Benefits: Manufacturing Skills Standards Council Certification in Logistics; up to 7 articulated credits from DTCC; paid summer work-based learning experiences or “Craftsmanship Placements” are planned after completion of the first two courses. Program of Study Overview

4 Manufacturing Logistics Technician (MLT) (Semester 1) MSS100 – Principles of Manufacturing Provides students with the foundational skills needed to start a career in manufacturing. Students will learn about tool use, production assembly, print reading, wiring, welding, lock out-tag out, OSHA safety, and key manufacturing mathematical concepts. (Semester 2) MSS101 – Manufacturing Quality, Safety, and Practices This course will focus on quality and measurement, emergency and fire safety, emergency and incident management, basic life support, material handling equipment, and computer spreadsheet applications. (Semester 3) MSS102 – Manufacturing Processes and Production Provides students with advanced knowledge of Manufacturing Processes and Production with a focus on tool and equipment safety, equipment maintenance and repair, and the 5-S and Lean Manufacturing processes. (Semester 4) MSS103 – Advanced Handling and Logistics Provides students with advanced handling and logistics skills with a focus on supply chains, manufacturing processes, packaging, material processing, inventory control, and transportation. Course 1Course 2Course 3 Course 4

5 Manufacturing Production Technician (MPT): The program of study is a two (2) year; four (4) semester Career & Technical Education (CTE) instructional program that engages students in the application of manufacturing processes, fabrication, automation, and control systems Partners: DTCC; DMA; Dream it, Do It; DEMEP; Governors Office Benefits: Manufacturing Skills Standards Council Certification in Production; Advanced Manufacturing / Integrated Systems Technology (AMIST) Certification; up to 10 articulated credits from DTCC; paid summer work-based learning experiences or “Craftsmanship Placements” are planned after completion of the first two courses. Program of Study Overview
