Visual Rhetoric: The Power of Emotion By: Kenan Ruth

Reflective Introduction I chose to do the power of emotion, because emotion can effect many people in many different ways. Emotion to me refers to how people react when the experience at certain situation. Emotion relates to power because they you are feeling can affect others. For instance, if you are happy and bubbly you are most likely going to affect the other person into a positive way. Emotion has so much influence in today’s society and most people don’t realize because you just don’t think about it on an every basis. Control can be either be positive or negative. It can be a problem because if someone has a negative emotion like being mad at something it puts everybody in a dull mood. People think of this as negative--

Reflective Introduction Because nobody wants to be angry because it affects others. When you have a negative emotion you tend to think the worst in situations. If your feeling sad about something because you caught your girlfriend/boyfriend talking to another person, you tend to think the worse that maybe he or she likes that person and not you anymore. This tends to be not the case most of the time. Positive emotion such as happy can make the world tens times better and you feel like nothing can stop you. For example, when you have been liking a girl for awhile and you learn that they like you too. You feel like your on cloud nine. And when people see you happy it makes other people be in a better mood. Another--

Reflective Introduction example could be if your feeling good and happy about loosing weight, you could also motivate a person/people to also try to loose some weight because they see how happy you are. You see this a lot on weight loss commercials because their trying to inspire you to loose weight..

Reflective Introduction For the paradigms I chose to do the faces that show the different types of emotion, the painful joy face, and a stressful woman. I chose to do the faces that show the different types of emotion because it shows how your facial expressions can show how you are feeling. The next paradigm is the painful joy face woman because it shows how you can feel two different types of emotion at the same time. And lastly the stressful woman because it shows how in a certain situation the power of feeling overwhelmed can turn into feeling stressed.

Reflective Introduction I believe that emotion has a great power over the way we feel and the other people can be affected by it. I hate being around people who are feeling stressed or mad because it makes me feel like that. When someone is talking about how they are struggling on homework when I haven't done it yet cause I thought it would be easy, its starts to make me feel stressed about it because I’m not sure what to expect. People can also try to make feel some type of emotion which also shows the power because it can make someone make a decision that they shouldn't’t make. But overall, I feel that without emotion in this world, it would be dull and boring. People would not be able to have personalities and everyone would be the same.
