4 In the USA … In the UK … Only 43% of hospital websites are mobile-friendly (despite 118% increase in mobile traffic to these websites) Just 15% of NHS Boards have invested in branded apps 27% of senior citizens are already self-tracking at least one aspect of their health Mobile technology imbedded in the Scottish Government eHealth Strategy Refresh 500 million people will be using smartphone healthcare apps in 2015 (30% of total smartphone users) 10,000 medical/healthcare apps available in Apple’s iTunes App Store 3rd biggest App category behind games and diet/fitness In the USA, 86% of healthcare clinicians use smartphones in their everyday practice (53% use tablets)

Examples of success so far Creation of a SuperUser group to share good practice, solve shared problems in-house, improve clinical opinion of the system and move towards standardised process eReferrals in Physiotherapy halving the administrative time for each referral from a GP Roll out of paper-light services at WGH and now on to SJH Representation for Lothian AHPs in InterSystems Clinical Strategy Group (only AHP in the group) Involvement in local and national networks to ensure we are in line with national standards and can promote our successes Where to next? Full student access to Trak Bringing all AHP groups on to Trak (Arts Therapists coming on soon) Standardised reports for AHP groups at a directorate and service management level before exploring clinical and team level reports eReferrals for other AHP groups Mobile technology
