2 What is limerick poetry?  A limerick poem is a humorous five-line verse that has a regular meter and the rhyme scheme aabba. They also often have place names in their rhymes.

3 Example There was an old man of Peru Who dreamt he was eating a shoe. He awoke in the night With a terrible fright. With a terrible fright. And found it was perfectly true!

5 What is free verse poetry?  Free verse is poetry that is “free” of a regular meter and rhyme scheme. Poets writing in free verse try to capture the natural rhythms of ordinary speech.
