3. Rule 6A - 1.09401 Student Performance Standards. English Language Art Proposed Changes: Total of 13 proposed clarifications to current standards – 12 at the elementary grade level – One at the high school grade level Addition of cursive writing as part of current 4 th and 5 th grade standards with printing standards building to cursive writing added as part of current 2 nd and 3 rd grade standards 3

4. Rule 6A - 1.09401 Student Performance Standards. Mathematics Proposed Changes: Total of 24 proposed clarifications to current standards. – 15 at the elementary grade level – One at the middle grade level – Eight at the high school grade level Total of one deleted standard (first grade) Total of 60 (52 calculus NGSSS) new standards – Addition of standards that support measurement, money, algebra and calculus Two in kindergarten Two in first grade One in second grade Two in fourth grade 53 at the high school (this includes 52 current Calculus Next Generation Sunshine State Standards 4

5. Rule 6A - 1.09412 Course Requirements – Grades K-12 Basic and Adult Secondary Programs. Proposed Change: Update this rule to include State Board of Education approved courses that include the proposed in the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 course code directories. The 2014-2015 courses include the proposed Florida Standards for English Language Arts and Mathematics. 5

6. Rule 6A - 1.09414 Course Requirements – Grades PK-12 Exceptional Student Education. Proposed Change: Update this rule to include State Board of Education approved courses in the 2013-2014 course code directory.
