2. The technologic Singularity is crucially dependent on AI developments, unfriendly AI represents the greatest existential risk out there, and many significant figures in Singularity circles have a primary interest in AI, namely Ben Goertzel, Neil Jacobstein, Eliezer Yudkowsky, and Jaron Lanier.
