3 3 www.census.gov/econ/ September 14, 2010 Which Businesses Are Included Includes: All employer businesses operating during the Economic Census year In 295 selected industries, spanning 15 of the 18 economic census sectors Operating under a trademark authorized by a franchisor during the year Excludes: Nonemployer businesses (a.k.a “independent contractors”) – not in the scope of the economic census
