If you don’t do the reading I’ll be knocking points off your homework for the week. There is a reading assignment for Wednesday. Always look in the wiki for reading / homework / slides

8 CIS 235: Networks Fall, 2007 Western State College Preliminaries This week we’ll cover some background that isn’t directly in the text. This will be part of the chapter 1 test. You need to know basic math: powers of 2, unit conversion, calculations involving rates, distance, and size. We’ll spend some time talking about Finite State Machines – these are what network protocols are built on.
