7 4. BLOOD PRESSURE Blood Pressure is the force of blood against a vessel wall as the heart contracts and then relaxes. The contraction number is the SYSTOLIC. The relaxed number is the DIASTOLIC 120/80 is an example of a normal adult BP

10 Vocab Continued Plaque- fatty deposit that clogs arteries Atheriosclerosis- disease of arteries, they harden due to plaque build up Hypertension- High blood pressure
