CS 194 Research Checkpoint Paul Salzman Advisor: Professor Glenn Reinman Winter 2007

Outline  Proposed Checkpoint Goals  Current Accomplishments  Difficulties  Next Steps

Proposed Checkpoint Goals  Develop a simulator using SESC with MINT 4-8 weeks  Create various workloads for the simulated architecture 1-2 weeks

Accomplishments  Heterogeneous Cores up and running.  Network latency modeling on its way.  Still in the process of developing a simulator using SESC with MINT

Difficulties  Lack of up to date simulator documentation.  Network communication latency modeler functional but disconnected in simulator.

Next Steps  Tie the network latency modeler into the simulator.  Create various workloads for the simulated architecture 1-2 weeks  Analyze performance to determine how different resource allocations can be applied. 8+ weeks
