3 11-3 E NABLE P AYROLL 1. Select Edit > Preferences 2. Select Payroll & Employees 3. Select Company Preferences 4. Select Full Payroll 5. Display Employee List by: Last Name 6. Select OK

4 11-4 P AYROLL O PTIONS When you process QuickBooks payroll, you can:  Calculate payroll manually (Chapter 11)  Use a QuickBooks payroll service (Chapter 6)

5 11-5 Q UICK B OOKS P AYROLL S ERVICES QuickBooks Payroll Services automatically calculates tax withholdings and requires an Internet connection QuickBooks Payroll Services include:  Basic Payroll  Enhanced Payroll  Assisted Payroll

6 11-6 C ALCULATE P AYROLL M ANUALLY 1. Select Help > QuickBooks Help 2. Search process payroll manually 3. Select Search icon 4. Select Process Payroll Manually (without a subscription to QuickBooks Payroll) 5. Select manual payroll calculations link

7 11-7 C ALCULATE P AYROLL M ANUALLY 6. Select Set my company file to use manual calculations 7. Select OK

8 11-8 Q UICK B OOKS M ANUAL P AYROLL After you enable QuickBooks to process payroll manually…  Go to Payroll Setup  Enter Employee List  Enter Time  Pay Employees  Pay Liabilities  Process Payroll Forms

9 11-9 P AYROLL S ETUP Use QuickBooks Payroll Setup to enter information such as:  Employee compensation  Employee benefits  Other additions and deductions  Employee tax information

10 11-10 P RINT P AYCHECKS 1. Select Pay Employees 2. Select Bank Account 3. Enter Pay Period Ends 4. Enter Check Date 5. Select Employee 6. Select Continue

11 11-11 P RINT P AYCHECKS 7. Select Employee 8. Select Open Paycheck Detail

12 11-12 P REVIEW P AYCHECKS 1. - 6. Enter Employee withholding information 7. Select Save & Close

13 11-13 P RINT P AYCHECKS 8. Select Print paychecks from QuickBooks 9. Select Create Paychecks 10. Select Print Paychecks

14 11-14 P AYROLL L IABILITIES Payroll liabilities consist of:  Federal income tax withheld  State income tax withheld  FICA  FUTA  SUTA
