4 FY15 DATA Elements (For School Year 2014-15) A. CATE Programs, Services, & Activities  N/I Certification for Completers  Articulation and Dual Credit  Academic-CATE Integration  CATE “Program of Study” (See FY15 Local Plan)  Special Populations B. Uses of Perkins Funds (Top 3 Subprograms) C. CATE Performance & Improvement (Perkins Indicators; Technical Skill Assessments; etc.)

5 Updates for the FY15 CATE Progress Report May tweak Sec. A Item re: Dual Credit CATE courses where students simultaneously earned High School units and Postsecondary credits during the reporting year. Trying to get a better understanding of how these courses are coded in PowerSchool and whether or not they meet all secondary CATE course standards and requirements. Impacts Perkins federal reporting and performance accountability for SC’s CATE “Participants,” “Concentrators,” and “Completers.” Will revise wording for Sec. C Item re: Technical Skill Assessments -- to better identify the CATE programs where state- approved assessments were implemented during the reporting year; and, if assessments are not being used by the LEA — why not?

6 CATE Program of Study for the FY16 CATE Local Plan, Section A  Each LEA Must Offer at Least One CATE Program of Study (POS) that meets ALL the criteria outlined in the Perkins Act.  The response to Every Item in the POS component of Section A must address the specific POS “identified” for the current year.  The POS is “approved” based on the SUM of all its parts. The POS must be approved to receive any Perkins funds under the CATE Local Plan.

7 Program of Study Criteria & Considerations for FY16 Primary Components Needed for the CATE POS Secondary CATE Program and CIP code (State-Recognized CATE Program) Courses/units offered for the Secondary POS (≥4 units) & Location Postsecondary Institution & Credential/Certificate/Degree offered for POS Description of the Articulation Agreement (Benefits; Dual credit/other) Guidance/info provided to students and parents on the POS options LEA Support for the Program (e.g., Perkins $$; Promotion; B/I Linkages) Secondary and Postsecondary contacts for each component of the POS Federal Perkins Monitoring Team Randomly Selects Local Plans to Review and Conducts 2 Local Site Visits to review the local “CATE Program of Study.” (SC Potential for FY16 Visit?? ?? )
