Include examples from the book and your own life to illustrate your answer. 2. Discuss the differences and similarities you see between family and social life in Tree-ear's era and your own. 6 Monday, Sept 8 While Tree-ear was on his first day at his job with Min, Crane-man tried to catch a flounder but was unable to do so. In a fit of anger he hit a rock with his crutch and broke the crutch. Tree-ear felt guilty that he was not there to catch flounder and that he did not even think of Crane-man when he ate his midday meal. 4. What can be learned from Crane-man breaking his crutch in a fit of anger? Include examples (cite evidence) from the book and your own life to illustrate your answer. Does this remind of you a person from the Bible? 5. Do you think Tree-ear should have felt guilty about not bringing Crane- man some of his midday food considering the amount of physical labor Tree-ear had to do? Why or why not? Include examples (cite evidence) from the book and your own life to illustrate your answer. 6. Although Crane-man did not get a flounder and he broke his crutch and Tree-ear felt ashamed about his selfishness, they ended the evening having fun with each other. Talk about the character traits this type of ending to a hard day indicates. Include examples (cite evidence) from the book and your own life to illustrate your answer.

Monday, Sept 8 Homework for Independent Study: 1. Be prepared for a reading comprehension quiz over chapters 1-5 tomorrow on junoed.com. It will be 20 multiple choice questions. 2. Study by answering Ch 1-5 Questions on junoed.com. Regardless of your score for junoed.com Chapter questions, it will be for two daily completion grades. 3. Grammar Exam tomorrow over parts of speech and parts of a sentence. Study warm-ups and last week’s quiz. It will be matching and multiple choice with one sentence to diagram.
