Kids participate in decisions, but parents have right to veto; discussions occur

Example A 5-year-old wants a second helping of snack after school. Her mother tells her no. The child asks, “Why?” And the mother simply says, “Because I said so.” Which parenting style is this?

9 Example A 3-year-old is playing with another child while their parents eat dinner. The 3-year-old snatches a toy away from the other child. The mother and father of the 3-year-old see this, but do nothing because they believe their child has a right to express himself. What parenting style is this?
