Education in I&S metallurgy in Italy: Past experience and Future Trends 14 Up-dating of the handbooks
15
Education in I&S metallurgy in Italy: Past experience and Future Trends 15 AIM-Promotion among the young students AIM offers a special rate for the junior students: –Association Rate of 15.00 –Possibility to partecipate to all the organized events without any charge –Discount on the AIM published books
16
Education in I&S metallurgy in Italy: Past experience and Future Trends 16 Courses promoted by AIM in collaboration with Enterprises
17
Education in I&S metallurgy in Italy: Past experience and Future Trends 17 Future up-dating of the handbooks Best integration about the following items: –Thermodynamics and Kynetics of Steelmaking –Solidification of the Steel –Principles for the Designing and Regulation of the Steelmaking Plants –Plastic Deformation of Steels Possibility to implement on-line facilities: –A cooperation among POLIMI – Siderweb – Università degli Studi di Brescia has already been performed and structured on three main items: Physical Metallurgy of steels Steelmaking Steel Applications ……but a better modulation of the items and of the didactic forms needs to be implemented
18
Education in I&S metallurgy in Italy: Past experience and Future Trends 18 Role of AIM in collaboration with the university institutions The cultural institutions active in the metallurgy field play an important role of joining between industry and academies; realization of courses related to the permanent up-dating of the people operating in manufacturing; promotion of the employment possibilities among the students which stimulate them to follow the metallurgical training courses. …an interesting experience about the on-line training has been led by AIM at an international level as coordinator of METRO (Metallurgical Training On-Line) funded by EU.
