SUBJECT – Economics TOPIC – Sectors Of The Indian Economics . TEACHING POINT – PRIMARY SECTOR, , SECONDERY SECTOR, & TERTIARY SECTOR. TEACHING APROACH ; INDUCTO – DEDUCTIVE APPROACH. TEACHING AIDS – Showing pictures of – Products of Primary sector, Secondary sector and Tertiary sectors.

2 General Objectives : To enable the students to relate between human and geographical environment. To enable the students to know the reality of daily activities and their surrounding environment. To provide real information about natural beauty. To provide absolute knowledge about Sectors of Indian economy (Primary, Secondary & tertiary Sector.)

3 To provide absolute knowledge about agriculture, different occupation and different industries .
To enable the student acquainted with different peoples of state for living a better life. To provide knowledge about the role of service sector in Indian economy.

4 Specific Objectives :-
(i) Students will be able to tell the name of different Sectors of Indian Economy. (ii) Students will be able to tell primary , Secondary and Tertiary Sectors. (iii) Students will be able to differentiate between primary , Secondary and Tertiary Sectors. (iv) Students will be able to Identify different types of Economic Activites.

5 SECTORS OF INDIAN ECONOMY
When we look around us , we find that different people are engaged in various economic activities . Some of these are activities producing goods. Some others are producing services. These activities are happening around us every minute even as we speak . How do we understand these activities ? One way of doing this is to group them (classify them) using some important criterion. These group are also called sectors.

Economic Activities 1- Primary Sector 2- Secondary Sector 3- Tertiary Sector (Service sector)

7 1- Primary Sector When the economic activity depends mainly on exploitation of natural resources then that activity comes under the primary sector. Agriculture and agriculture related activities are the primary sectors of economy.

10 2 - Secondary Sector Activities which transform natural or primary products into some manufacturing products are termed as secondary activities or industrial activities. The process of manufacturing may be performed in a factory, a workshop or at home.

11 3 – Tertiary Sector (Service sector)
Activities which provide support services to the primary and secondary activities are termed as tertiary activities. Transport , storage, communication, banking, trade are some example of tertiary activities. since these activities generate services rather than goods, the tertiary sector is also called the tertiary sector.
