3 LESSON 2: ROLES OF LEADERS AND FOLLOWERS IN DRILL Leadership through the Use of Drill and Ceremonies Lesson 3: Squad Drill Lesson 3: Squad Drill Chapter 2: Leading Others Using Drill Energizer Seven volunteers are needed to make a squad with a squad leader. Organize in a squad formation with a squad leader and two ranks. You will compete with a squad of senior Cadets in moving from Point A on the ground to Point B using the steps and marching/movements learned in previous lessons.

4 LESSON 2: ROLES OF LEADERS AND FOLLOWERS IN DRILL Leadership through the Use of Drill and Ceremonies Lesson 3: Squad Drill Lesson 3: Squad Drill Chapter 2: Leading Others Using Drill Energizer The senior Cadets squad will march first. The junior Cadets squad leader will then move his or her squad through the course using the steps and marching movements from previous lessons. Have five leaders line up next to each other at Point A. Count off one through five. When given the command “Go”, line up behind the leader and cross to Point B in straight lines.
