2. The Argos system
Argos is a global satellite-based location and data collection system dedicated to studying and protecting our planet's environment.
It allows any mobile object equipped with a compatible transmitter:
To be located across the world,
To send data from measurement sensors connected to this transmitter.

CLS is providing GTS processing and distribution for all met. & ocean platforms, including main international programs
Variables such as Air Pressure, Air Temperature, SST, Wind are particularly useful.
This International co-operation is helping weather centers to produce better forecasts and contributing in the long term to global climate studies.

This miniaturized ARGOS transceiver will work at very low power consumption allowing deployments of ARGOS-3/4 technology in most applications.
Will be provided to integrators in summer 2015 for testing
