Our mission: Give the maximum benefit to the maximum number of students Monthly application review meeting Because expenses are often unanticipated Because students register with DRS throughout the year Award limits $1,000/semester $5,000 lifetime

Student Financial Services – Interpret student financial package Anticipate impact of scholarship Office of Vocational Rehabilitation – Verify whether student is registered with OVR Tell whether other sources of aid are available Disability Resources and Services – Provide context on the student Explain the disability-related reasons for the scholarship Majority of seats on the committee

8 DRS Career Gateway Our mission:
Students will utilize on- and off-campus career resources to become work-ready Work-ready students will engage in the career development process better prepared for an successful placement All students who come through the Career Gateway will find an appropriate placement We will offer workshops on disability and employment We will expand our students’ network of disability-friendly employers

9 DRS Career Gateway Departmental objectives:
Students can articulate a realistic career goal Students will engage in meaningful pre-employment activities Students can articulate their job accommodation needs

10 Our Process Career Gateway is a year-round process
Students first complete the Workshop Verification Form by meeting with a career adviser to work on: Resume review Cover letter writing Mock interview Students who have completed this process are eligible for Career Gateway services, including: Recruitment programs Job boards/networks Disability and employment workshops

Adopted November 2012 All information and technology will be accessible The person who is responsible for creating or procuring the technology is responsible for making it accessible Guidelines and standards will be created in separate documents There is a provision for exceptions
