6 What’s a Mouth Morpheme?
Morpheme- the smallest grammatical unit of speech. Smallest part of the word that shows or changes meaning Print Print –er = printer Print –s = prints Print –ing = printing Print re- = reprint Mouth Morpheme- grammatical unit in ASL that conveys size, shape, and length of time using the mouth.

7 When to Use Mouth Morphemes
To show: Morphemes to use: Intention: th, mm, sh, tight lips, chin down, lips Pulled down Size/ Height: pith, po, oo, mm, cha, luch, ah Tongue wag Density: oo, mm, cha, luch, puffed, ah , sh Volume/ time/ distance: Cs, clenched teeth, mm, ah, tongue wag Efficiency, fluidity, surface or texture th, oo, muttered, mm, puffed/ Blow air Feelings: oo, mm, lips down, tight lips, clenched Teeth, th- tongue out, chin down
