2 Economy Nepal is one of the poorest nations in the world. The GDP per capita of Nepal is $1,300 Nepal is a major exporter of carpets and clothing. Nepal's top imports include petroleum and machinery Nepal has a traditional economy- mostly based on agriculture and tourism Nepal's economy in charts and graphs

3 Economy continued Nepal's main trade partners are India and China. Nepal has a 46 percent unemployment rate,among the highest in the world. Income inequality in Nepal is among the world's worst Nepal's economy is too dependent on agriculture A graph of Nepal’s economic output

9 Flag The red color represents the rhododendron,the national flower of Nepal The blue border stands for peace and harmony The moon represents the colder climate of the mountains The sun represents the warmer climate in the lowlands The flag of Nepal

10 Currency The currency of Nepal is the Nepalese Rupee,not to be confused with the Indian Rupee It is tied to the Indian Rupee so that one Indian Rupee is the same as 1.6 Nepalese Rupees As of April 25,2012,there are 84 rupees in a dollar A 5 rupee note

11 Food of Nepal Most Nepalese people eat a simple diet of rice,lentils,and vegetables Many people are vegetarians Most food from Nepal is similar to what would be found in China or India Some also eat water buffalo A Nepalese boy cooking dumplings

12 Sports and Entertainment Common sports in Nepal include soccer,cricket,table tennis(ping pong),and basketball Traditional festivals often include folk music and dancing A Nepalese boy playing ping pong
