9 ACT/SAT The ACT or SAT is required for college admission (ACT is preferred by Midwestern schools). It is recommended that you take either test in the spring of your junior year (preparation is key). Become familiar with the test content and format: The ACT includes 4 tests– English, Math, Reading, Science– and an optional Writing Test. The Writing Test is currently required by UW- Madison, Marquette University and UM-Twin Cities. 19 Things to watch for… Registration for junior year begins in late January. PLAN test Thursday, December 11 th. HUHS College Fair Monday, March 9 th.
