It consists of an international group, with subsidiaries in several countries. Consider yourself as an IDES employee to be part of a SAP application simulation IDES contains application data for various realistic business scenarios. IDES uses easy-to-follow business scenarios to show you the comprehensive functions of the R/3 System. The focal point of IDES, however, is not the functionality itself, but the business processes and their integration.

11 SE 464: Industrial Information systems Most Images and inform. used in these slides are SAP © Not to be used for other than educational purposes Systems Engineering Department SAP LOGON A key concept “A must know” The R/3 System is a client system The client concept enables parallel working, in a single system, by several enterprises that are independent (in business terms) of each other. During each user session you can only access the data of the client selected during the logon. During your lab your enterprise or company or organization’s (SE464Lab) client ID is 800 which has been set as default. Go to e:\shortcuts\SAPLOGON icon to start SAP. Click on SE464Lab to start the logon process SAP needs a protected access therefore a user name & a password is required for logon.
