8 HEP: Future Directions Possible Experimental Faculty Expansion: –Expert in Silicon Detector Development Greatly enhance cross-disciplinary efforts in Department –especially connections with Astro-Particle efforts (LSST, etc.) Important ingredient for LHC upgrades –Experimentalist with focus on Neutrino Physics Enhance efforts in this under-represented area Closer ties with expanding Fermilab program –Expert in Large-Scale Research Computing Crucial ingredient for “modern” experiments Closer ties with campus/regional computing efforts, resources Follow opportunities: e.g. an ILC at Fermilab could motivate group expansion to take advantage of new local world-class facility
