4 One Example: Mission Statement Faculty members of the Department of Psychology at Boise State University strive to enable students to think critically about behavioral and mental processes, to appreciate and respect others, and to educate students for a variety of postbaccalaureate alternatives. These objectives are implemented via a rigorous, science-based curriculum that focuses on the application of research methods and statistics, development of effective speaking and writing skills, respect for the diversity of human experiences, and appreciation of how psychology contributes to the improvement of the human condition.
