Meat and Potatoes Micromouse Spring 2006

Introduction (Top-Down, Left-Right) –Alex DeAngelis –Mike Manzano –Aaron Fujimoto –Alex Zamora –Tyson Seto-Mook

Brief Overview Wall Hugging Mouse –Top-down Sensors Adjustable Sensor Array Maximum 12 Sensors –Step Motors –Nickel-metal hydride Batteries –Aluminum Chassis (If Possible) Upgrade to Center-Seeking Mouse

Pictures of Progress

What’s Completed Feb. 28 Mounted rabbit socket above sensor circuit. Began on sensor array. Feb. 25 Built the sensor circuit. Feb. 24 Began on circuit layout for the sensor circuit. Feb. 22 Analyzed that the motor-driver wasn't properly working due to three burnt mosfets. Feb. 20 Tested and began debugging of motor-driver circuit. Feb. 19 Built motor-driver circuit. Feb. 18 Went to IC supplies in order to obtain connectors for motor-driver circuit. Built chassis for out mouse.

Block Diagram Completed Mouse Sensor Array Algorithms / Code Sensor Circuitry Chassis / Body

Sensor Array Adjustability –Vertical adjustments of ±0.5cm –Horizontal Adjustment (if possible) Still in progress/planning Separate connectors –Non-soldered sensor connections Circuitry NOT located on the array –Leaves a ‘light’ array

Sensor Array FRFMRFMLFL CR1RCR2CRMCLMCL2LCL1 Sensors are labeled in terms which will be used in the coding. CRx = Check Right X; R = Right; CRM = Check Right Middle CLx = Check Left X; L = Left; CRL = Check Left Middle FR = Front Right; FMR = Front Mid. Right, FML = Front Mid. Left; FL = Front Left......

Incomplete Tasks Algorithms Coding Mounting of the Sensor Array Combining all the separate pieces Debugging… Really Debugging… Extreme Debugging…

Future Thoughts Problems/Outstanding Issues –The ‘completed’ sensor circuitry may malfunction Soldering Burnt Chips Broken Mosfets, etc. –Programming Errors –Communication and Teamwork Problems –Not completely visualizing the problem(s) that may occur

‘Gantt’ Chart “Not Really” D1 - Get Mouse Moving D2 - Get Mouse Hugging that Wall D3 - Wall-hugging Mouse Completed and Debugged D4 - Mouse with Center-finding Algorithm Completed and Debugged D1 18 Mar 06 D2 24 Mar 06 D3 1 Apr 06 D4 6 May 06
