10 In addition to police efforts…we need our students to do their part to make this a safer campus and to make good choices for their own safety.

14 University Police University Police’s responsibility is to protect, serve and educate our community about campus life issues.

25 University Police Law Enforcement Parking Security Order Maintenance Emergency Planning and Response

27 Emergency Planning and Response at SUNY Oswego is coordinated through the UPD.

28 University Police The Emergency Response Plan is comprehensive and includes procedures for all contingencies.

29 University Police UPD partners with other surrounding agencies such as the NYSP, OCSO and OPD in the instance of large scale events we help each other as needed.

31 Agency consists of 560 police officers statewide serving at 28 SUNY colleges.

32 University Police Our agency is called NYSUP – New York State University Police.

33 University Police At SUNY Oswego we have 20 sworn police officers who are fully trained and authorized to make arrests of all kinds.

40 We are the primary law enforcement agency on SUNY property.

42 University Police The UPD has police jurisdiction over any property owned or controlled by SUNY Oswego, police officers have statewide jurisdiction in NY.

43 University Police Officers perform mobile, foot, and/or bicycle patrols throughout the campus 24hrs a day

44 University Police Law Enforcement Division NYSUP officers are sworn police officers.

45 University Police All officers have completed police training at certified police academies within the state.

46 University Police All officers have a college degree. All officers undergo continuous training on a variety of police topics

51 Rave Guardian RAVE Guardian is your way to alert UPD if you have an emergency or need police services fast.

63 University Police  Keep residence hall room doors secure at all times  Don’t leave residence hall exterior doors insecure – don’t prop doors.

75 University Police The Parking Office is at Route 104 and New Street in the Chase Bank building

76 University Police Parking Division  Open M-F 7:30am to 4:20pm (7:30am to 4:00pm in the summer)

77 University Police Parking Division  Your guests (and you) can get a temporary visitor permit at UPD after hours/weekends when the parking office is closed.

78 University Police Parking Division  All vehicles parking in campus lots must display a valid affixed SUNY parking permit

82 University Police In light of our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint we are actively working to reduce the number of unnecessary vehicles on campus.
