5 Where Did That Music Come From? In the United States and Japan music created domestically is clearly primary. In other countries music from other nations has a much larger following.

8 Which Nations Sold the Most Movie Admissions in 2001? Given the number of admissions sold in the U.S., it’s not surprising that America has a huge role in deciding international box-office hits. See next slide.

9 What Were People Watching in 2001? In a word? Hollywood. Below are the top-twenty box office hits of 2001.

10 What Market Share Do U.S. Films Have? Over 93% of all movies watched in the United States are American. Even in France, over half of all the films seen are American.

13 What Are the People of the EU Watching Most Often? Although Europeans do watch films from Eastern Europe and Latin America, those films represent a very small proportion of the total number of films watched.
