Collaboration To what extent are the details of the action plan “known and owned” by the entire staff. Distributed leadership To what extent are you willing and able to model the kinds of practices you call for in the action plan? Modeling II.Internal Accountability for ALL To what extent are you prepared to improve the working relationships and internal accountability in your school along with your many other demands? Or are you bent on getting your action plan done. Internal accountability structures; school culture LEADERSHIP We are now in the part of this year’s process where leadership will decide the degree to which your work impacts teaching and learning. Here’s why:

3 3 March 2007 Data Wise Class LEADERSHIP Discussion Questions: 1.Teachers in the room: Given what we’ve learned from the protocols today, how could school leaders “get in the way?” How could leaders gain regular buy-in from the entire staff? 2.Principals in the room: What obstacles do you encounter in trying to be the kind of leader you want to be? Specifically, why is it hard to gain buy-in?
