2. 12. The righteousness of the law is that obedience which the law requires (Rom 3:10,20; 8:4). The righteousness of faith is the justification which is received by faith (Rom 3:21-28; 4:3-25; 5:1-11; 10:6-11; 2 Cor 5:21; Gal 2:21). Righteousness is sometimes used for uprightness and just dealing between man and man (Isa 60:17), also for holiness of life and conversation (Dan 4:27; Luke 1:6; Rom 14:17; Eph 5:9).

We shall concisely present a correlation between the Lord Christ and Melchizedek: A- Concerning the name, ‘Melchizedek’ means (King of righteousness) (Romans 3). B- Concerning work, “the king of Salem” means (King of Peace) (John 16).

C- He has been a King and Priest at the same time, something that can not be realized for the Jews: for whom the kings were from the tribe of Judah, while the Priesthood was from the tribe of Levi. In Christ Jesus, both were realized. D- The offer of Melchizedek was individual in nature, referring to the sacrifice of the Lord Christ. E- We know nothing of his father or mother; His kingdom has no beginning or end referring to the Lord Christ, who is with no carnal father, and no mother -- Divinity wise; with no beginning of days -- eternal.
