3 Conferences and Incentives Statistics 2009 3 Executive Summary  Conferences (of any type) was the leading category (76%) in the Conferences and Incentives Market in Cyprus during 2009  More than four out of ten events had International origin (42%), while 37% had European origin  Approximately one out of two Conferences or Incentives took place in Limassol (44%)  Most Conferences and Incentives took place in March (16%), followed by October (14%) and May (12% respectively)  More than six out of ten of the Incentives (63%) took place in Limassol. Limassol also lead the way for Association conferences (43%), while most of Governmental conferences took place in Nicosia (49%)  The average number of participants in each event in Cyprus is approximately 119. Association conferences have on average 129 participants, Corporate conferences 99 participants, Governmental conferences 159 participants and Incentives 67 participants  The average number of stay for Conferences or Incentives ranges to 4  Almost one out of five (17%) conferences or incentives cost up to € 10000. More than one out of four (27%) cost €10001-€25000, almost one out of five (19%) cost €25001 - €50000, three out of five(57%) cost €50001 - €100000 and 13% of conferences or incentives cost more than €100001.  Greece, Russia and UK have the largest contribution for holding events in Cyprus.
