The Story  Jesus began his ministry by selecting his team  He gave the bulk of his time to their training  They were trained to fulfill the mission:  John 20:21, “repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations.”  Mark 16:15 “Go into all the world and preach the good news.”  Matt. 28:19 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations.”  Luke 24:47, “Repentance and forgiveness of sin will be preached in my name to all nations.” 1. The Story  Acts 1:8, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."  We need to align ourselves with the one who can defeat the enemy  Ephesians 1:19-22 describes this power – “His incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the working of his mighty strength … far above all rule and authority, power and dominion.” 1. Leadership  Christ never intended for anyone to become a disciple all by themselves – it takes team!  Team requires humility  It takes humility to follow team leadership  Spiritual leadership helps guide us in the way of discipleship  The church is NOT a spiritual factory  The church is real people trying to learn the way of being a disciple of Christ 2. Outreach  Being a Christian means we have a mission  That mission is a message of spiritual transformation  Jesus Christ IS the truth – John 14:7  That truth needs to be told – Mark 16:15  We need to be trained in the truth so we can live and speak the truth 3.
