6 Requirements 1.Ultra radiation hardness ~6x10 12 p/day, ~6x10 11 i/day dose ~1Grad/day ?calc? should survive few weeks  tens of Grad 2.Fast readout, history buffer protons: 1 particle every 10 ns delayed trigger 3.Good position resolution ~10  m to determine offset of ~100  m 4.Small signal from protons special preamplification necessary (close to the sensor) Beam (SPS) protons (450 GeV): ~10 8 /s ions (In, Pb, 160 GeV): ~10 7 /s ?
