August 8 th, 2011 Celebrate Jesus! The Tenth Annual International Day of Prayer for the Maltese Islands

Psalm 29:2 - Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name.

His goodness shines with brightest rays when we delight in all His ways. His glory overflows its rim when we are satisfied in Him. His radiance will fill the earth when people revel in His worth. By John Piper

Heb. 6:10 - Many Christians come to Malta for short-term trips. Ask for fruit in Malta and in the participants’ lives. Pray that others will hear the call and faithfully come to share Jesus. 2002

Acts 28:2 - The Apostle Paul shipwrecked in Malta and found that the islanders showed him “unusual kindness.” One can still find this friendliness in the Maltese people today. 2003

Ask that Malta’s unique location will enable Maltese Christians to reach people from all over the world with the gospel. 2003

The Band Club Many Maltese see nothing wrong with adoring a particular saint or statue When the Maltese are taught the Ten Commandments, the second is omitted, and instead the tenth is split into two parts. Pray that instead they will “Exalt the name of the Lord… in the islands of the sea.” Isaiah 24:15 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image… you shall not bow down to them nor serve them.” Pray that instead of adoring saints or statues, Maltese will “Exalt the name of the Lord… in the islands of the sea.” Isaiah 24:15 2004

Ask that parents would look to God’s Word for raising their children and making life decisions. Pray that whole families will come to Christ (Acts 16:31) and that new churches will be started. 2005

But if anyone obeys His Word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in Him: Whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Jesus did. I John 2:5-6 But if anyone obeys His Word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in Him: Whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Jesus did. I John 2:5-6 2006

Ask that Maltese would have a hunger to read the Bible for themselves and discuss it in small groups. Pray for them to obey what they have read, not out of blind duty or in an attempt to earn their salvation, but out of love for their Savior. 2006

Request that Maltese youth will have a personal, daily walk with Christ in a setting where they can use their creativity and energy to worship Him and reach out to others around them. 2007

Ask the Lord to sanctify the Maltese youth, bless them, convict them of sin, and reveal Truth.

2007 Psalm 67:5-7 May the peoples praise You, O God; may all the peoples praise You. Then the land will yield its harvest and God will bless us. God will bless us and the ends of the earth will fear Him.
