3 Purpose: “Getting Connected” Purpose: Provide quick and easy access to new Faculty and Staff to key enterprise systems. Change: Creation of a UCRNET ID can be completed within an employee’s department. No longer do forms need to be personally brought to C&C.

4 Immediate Impacts Today: – New employees need to be entered into PPS, – Then entered into Tel by Department Tel Coordinators, – Then employee brings form to C&C with ID, – C&C creates the new account within 72 hours Tomorrow – New employee entered into PPS – Then Tel coordinator creates UCR Net ID & Temporary Password Results: – Immediate Access to Employees for Email and Wireless – Immediate Access for SAA’s to assign user responsibilities

5 Vision for the Future User immediately has access to UCR Campus enterprise email system and wireless

6 Process Overview 1. New Hire (please note that this process will also be used for existing employees who need to have their passwords reset) 2. Enter Employee in PPS 3. Next Day Tel Coordinator enters the employee into the Tel Database AND creates a UCR Net ID AND assigns a Temporary UCR Net ID password 4. Employee registers Permanent password via the web (must be completed within 7 days)

7 New UCR NetID Form Highlights of the New UCR NetID Form – Available On-Line – Department Keeps the Original as department of record, in employees personnel file – Does not require Department Head or delegate signature The employee is automatically granted the authority to obtain a UCR Net ID by being employed and entered into PPS. UCR Net ID provides access to campus email system and wireless. To obtain access to other administrative systems either the SAA grants access (via EACS) or a form must be submitted for IBM systems, Legacy systems, or PeopleSoft.
