1 Parasitic parametrization of LER, HER and Lumi sensitivty in Trickle injection mode Very simple idea: use the very different variation with time of HER and LER to characterize their various impacts Three examples: –IR2 HER pumps –IR2 LER pumps –DCH current Hope to stimulate more studies along those lines

7 DCH Current sensitivity Try to fit HER and LUMI dependancy at Current LER current Use: DCH-f_FEB2002(LER)=a. HER + b.LUMI Fit (DCH-f(LER))/HER as a function of LUMI/HER or vice-versa

8 DCH_I fits DCH=15+25.LER+7.LER**2+255. HER+41. LUMI To be compared to (FEB 2002): DCH=15+25.LER+7.LER**2+110.HER+30.HER**2+52.LUMI

9 Caveat Besides the systematic uncertainty of the numerical values, due to the rough approach, one has to pay attention that this approach integrated beam-beam effects in an « effective » manner. The detailed interplay, at constant LER, between HER, LUMI, beam-beam and background is intricate! However, the simple comparision with more controlled results of FEB2002 tells us something about the size of these effects One can do these studies anytime and follow the time variations of these parameters

10 Conclusion WIth LER_only trickle, the time dependance of HER and LER is so different that it allows to perform many studies of HER and LER sensitivities Most HER IR2 Pumps are dominated by LER! (electrons from LER SR fan-out) Some HER sensitivity in LER –IR2 pumps Effective DCH parametrization obtained I would like to encourage all subsystem experts to try and extract their HER,LER dependancies using this method
